I’ve been designing a cover for my book which I’m soon going to self-publish on Amazon Kindle. You can read many different opinions about book covers and does and don’ts but in the end I felt I had to go with what I felt suited the content. The book is a 16,000 word, fictional story, about a wood-mouse that by chance starts going flying in a microlight. He’s also a mouse that hasn’t yet chosen a name for himself (as wood mice must do). Born with a somewhat rebellious and unconventional nature he disappoints his family who dub him odd, and different, and eventually reject him. Flying becomes his passion, and in the end brings him back to his family.
If you have a moment I’d really appreciate it if you’d tell me which cover you prefer. The picture is obviously the same on both, it’s the font for the title and signature that I can’t quite decide on. Does anyone think the author name should maybe be in a more conventional font? I’ll really appreciate your opinions!
Third Cover added after comments!
I recently entered a competition put up by GIMP (the free photo-editing software equivalent to Photoshop). I started using and learning GIMP a few years ago, it’s great fun for anyone who wants to be creative with graphics or photography. In this recent competition we had to create a space scene using paints, photos, or a mixture of both. I used some of my aerial photography combined with some biking pics and added stars etc with paint. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Which one do you prefer?

This award is for all of you who are having a wobbly, who are feeling wobbly, who like wobbly things, or who simply fancy a wobbly award on your blog. You are also very much entitled to this award if you are a Piscean person – their symbol being the fish.
I awarded myself this award today (after I created it) because I woke up with the sort of headache that gives me a ‘swimmy’ head – plus I’m a Pisces. I find it hard to write with a headache, it’s a bit like trying to walk through thick, sticky mud with wellies on that are three sizes too big; the thinking function baulks at it. But it doesn’t affect the drawing function and so I grabbed the graphics tablet. I’ve fancied doing a fishy animation for some time, although this isn’t an animation it’s just a picture that’s had the rippling effect added.
Now for the rules of this award:
1.Don’t send it on to other bloggers – because they can all award it to themselves.
2.Send a kind wobbly fish thought to someone you know who could do with it.
3.Smile whenever you look at your wobbly fish!
4. Download the image if you would like the award for your blog.
Have a wonderful wobbly day!
